The brand has three main watch lines, the Oyster Perpetual, Professional, and Cellini all of which have distinct styles and are made to the highest standard – which is why Rolex watches are so sought after. A Rolex watch has always been a great investment piece, but the recent price hikes have made their luxury watches an even better investment.
If you have your eye on a Rolex watch, you need to see the brand’s recent price rises – in 2022, there have already been two. This article is going to tell you everything you need to know about the Rolex price increase in 2022, how it affects you and why it’s happening.

We weren’t able to find many of the prices of specific watch models in the UK market, but we will keep the table updated when the next price increase happens.
Why Has There Been a price increase?
There are many different reasons for this price rise and how it is going to affect you if you are thinking of buying a Rolex watch anytime soon.
Firstly, all luxury brands increase their prices usually at least once a year to reflect inflation and any price rises in the production of the watches. What is surprising, however, is how much the Rolex prices have increased.
1. inflation
The rate of inflation across the US market and European market is higher than normal which means the prices of raw materials and wages have increased, causing the final product – the watch – to increase in price significantly.
2. The Supply Chain
There is also a specific supply chain issue at Rolex. The steel sports watches, in particular, are in high demand and are subsequently almost impossible to buy from Rolex retailers. Rolex may be capitalizing on this high demand by raising the prices as they know customers will still want to buy these watches.
To tackle the supply chain issue, Rolex has to employ more highly trained watchmakers to create their high-quality products, of which there are few available. The fact that there is a shortage of watchmakers means the wages are higher, causing the price of the watch to increase.
3. Exchange Rate Changes
As we mentioned before, UK and European markets experienced a second price increase earlier this month. This is mostly down to the strengthening of the US dollar, and the brand wanting to maintain coherent pricing across its global markets.
Other brands that have recently done a similar price adjustment just in the European and UK market include Chanel, so it’s not out of the norm by any means.
The impact of the price increase
The Rolex price increase will of course affect you if you are buying a brand new watch, but it will also have an impact if you are thinking of buying a Rolex on the secondary market. Since the prices of Rolex watches are increasing, and these watches are so in-demand, the prices of Rolex watches on the pre-owned market have increased, especially if they are limited edition releases.
