High Paying Affiliate Programs For Fashion Bloggers

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Simply put, affiliate marketing is selling and recommending other people’s products on your website, much like sales people in high end retail stores would get a commission for any sale that they influence.

You will typically receive a nice commission ranging from 6-15% on any sale that you influence, and what’s even better is that the cookie length for these products is typically 28 days!

Also, it doesn’t matter if the customer who goes through your links buys something completely different and unrelated to what you’ve talked about in your blog post – as long as you’ve influenced a sale on that retailers website, you will receive commission for it. Sounds amazing right?

How Much Do Bloggers Earn From Affiliate Marketing?

The sky really is the limit when it comes to affiliate marketing earnings. Your blog niche and content play a part in how much you’ll typically earn, but every niche has potential to earn a good amount from affiliates.

From my own experience, you can start making decent income already with 30,000 / mo page views. When I had my first 30,000 page view month, I made about $1200, and at 80,000 page views / mo, I was making around $2600 just from affiliate sales.

However, I know that there are a lot of bloggers who make even more money than I do with fewer monthly visitors! It all boils down to the content that you’re creating.

Does My Niche Matter? What are The Best Niches?

Yes, niche matters, but not as much as you would think. What matters more is that you write sales centred content like review articles, and that choose to focus on marketing products that will pay you a decent commission.

For example, let’s say that you run a lifestyle blog and like to talk about personal development. There are a couple of things that you could market, all the way from books to online courses. Books typically cost around $10 a piece, and 10% of that is nothing magical.

On the other hand, courses and info products often sell for $100-$200 AND you might even earn a higher commission from recommending them (usually up to 40%), so for just one sale you could end up banking $80.

This is why your niche is actually not as important as you may think. There will always great products to promote, no matter what niche you’re in.

Tips On Getting Approved By Affiliate Networks

Most of these affiliate networks will be pretty easy and straightforward to join. Before you apply, make sure that you have these few things in check:

  • Have a blog. Most affiliate networks require you to be a publisher, thus it’s much easier to get accepted to an affiliate network if you already have a blog. If you don’t, check out my super simple guide on how to start a blog today.
  • Have a few pages of content. Affiliate networks want to see that they’re partnering with a reputable blogger, so make sure that your blog looks great and that there are no “under construction” pages!
  • In your application, clearly explain how you will be an asset to their team and how you plan to promote their products.

Tips On Getting Approved By LTK

Although it is relatively simple to get approved by Awin and ShareaSale,  getting approved by LTK is a whole different process. LTK is an affiliate program for fashion bloggers as well as beauty and home decor bloggers.

LTK usually offers a higher percentage to its affiliates than normal. It’s my favorite affiliate program because it’s very intuitive to use and works amazingly well for fashion bloggers. It has ALL the advertisers that Awin has, and many from ShareaSale too, which is why I now mostly only use LTK – everything is compact and in one place.

The only caveat is that they are pretty exclusive and it’s quite hard to join the crew.

However, to even be considered a candidate for LTK, you need to have at least 4 months of consistent blogging content behind you that contains the following attributes:

  • Engaged and Growing Audience
  • Consistency
  • Quality and Original Content
  • Clean Editorial Design
  • Shop[able content – this is super important!

It’s also imperative that you have an active and growing Instagram account if you want to join LTK.

Consider ShopStyle

Shopstyle is another great affiliate program for fashion bloggers. Instead of getting paid for every sale that you refer to the advertiser, you will get paid for every click that you generate (CPC).

I would recommend Shopstyle when you’re just starting out with affiliate marketing because you don’t need to worry about generating sales, but it’s not great for those of you who are already generating sales – you may end up losing money if your conversion rates are good!

Conclusion

I hope that this post about the best fashion affiliate programs for bloggers was helpful to you and that you can start reaping the benefits of affiliate marketing ASAP! Remember that there are no downsides with getting started with affiliate marketing, so even if your traffic isn’t very high yet, you should still start implementing affiliate marketing sooner rather than later.

Once the links are on your website, you’re set. After that, affiliate marketing will be pretty passive, and you can focus your energy back on promoting and creating new content.

  1. I’m curious about your updated opinion on SSC versus RS now that they both use the same tactic for making money.

    1. Maria Julia says:

Hi Bailey! Personally I haven’t tried Shopstyle’s new RS-style monetization method – I decided to stay on the Pay per click method (It’s still available until further notice). However, in theory they should work the same.
I personally prefer Rewardstyle because they work with pretty much every brand under the sun, and they have a nifty plugin that makes it super easy to fetch links when you’re browsing on retailer’s sites! 🙂

Hello! most of my clothes are sent to me for collabs or purchased from small boutiques on instagram. how can i convert those into sales? Would I just link similar items on reward style or amazon?

    1. Maria Julia says:

You could do that! However, for the best sales and conversion rates I would recommend only working with brands that already have an affiliate program in place!

  10. Affiliate Marketing is currently my top source of blog income, which I love because it’s passive! Still not making enough for it to replace my day-to day full-time job income, but I would truly love for it to in 2021. That way I can quit my job and focus on growing my online presence and business! I’m definitely interested in your e-book!
