How I Made $11,376.22 In January: Blog Traffic & Income Report

Welcome to another income report on the blog! This month’s report is a little late, because I’ve just come back from a holiday in Dubai – more on that later.

January was another record breaking month for me. I truly didn’t expect to make as much as I did, because you often hear that December & November are the money making months in blogging. Well, as I discovered, this isn’t always the case!

In January, I made a total of $11,576, which was mostly driven by an increase in people starting blogs through my Start A Blog series. I didn’t do anything different than I had before, but it became apparent that more and more people were in the “new year, new me” mindset. Many people, who had put off starting a blog for a while, suddenly wanted to start a blog in January, which in turn increased my affiliate commissions.

What Worked In January

Switching Hosting To Pressable

If you’ve been reading my income reports, you will know that for 2-3 months now, something has not been right with my hosting. While everything had been smooth previously, my theme (Divi) had undergone some updates that completely blew thing out of the water. At one point, I wasn’t even able to publish a blog post. Personally, I think my hosting issues came down to two things: 1) any updates that Divi had done and 2) I had outgrown my plan and had “too much traffic” for it.

Since then, I’ve decided to switch to Pressable – it’s a premium hosting service that currently costs me $45/month – expensive, but totally worth it. Pressable improved the speed of my website a lot, which even led me to gain about 40% in Google traffic. That’s HUGE!

While I still recommend Bluehost to new bloggers, when you start reaching the 100,000 pageviews /month mark, you’ve probably outgrown your hosting, if you’ve started out with an affordable host. At that point, you should probably look into premium hosting, like Pressable, WP Engine, or others.

Note: DON’T change your hosting if you’re in the middle of a busy period for your blog, like launching a new product, etc. There’s a plethora of things that could go wrong with switching hosts. That’s exactly why I decided to wait until my busy period (November-December) was over before switching over.

Taking A Holiday

While I technically didn’t take a holiday in January (I was away for the first week of February), the holiday was still on my mind and pushed me to finish projects that I had started before going on holiday.

Taking holidays at least once a quarter is something that I’m definitely looking forward to doing more this year. Many entrepreneur and coaches teach that the best way to structure your year (if you’re in charge of your own hours) is to break the year into quarters (about 90 days or a little less), and do a week long holiday between them.

This way, you can come up with specific goals for each quarter. There’s enough time to focus on a specific area in your business, but not enough time for you to get sloppy. In my experience, this model works much better than setting annual goals – often, you can over- or underestimate what you can achieve in a year, so I’m a big fan of also having Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 tasks and goals.

Personally, I’ve also found the aspect of taking a week long holiday to be extremely important. As an online entrepreneur, it’s really hard to completely switch off from work, even when you’re on holiday. If you leave your hometown or your country, it’s much easier to get into peaceful state.

I took my laptop with me on holiday to Dubai just in case I got bored and wanted to do some work, but in the end I didn’t do anything. I just rested and spent time with my mom, which was amazing.

Breaking the year up to 90 day intervals is going to be really challenging, given that various holidays happen at very random times of the year and my boyfriend isn’t completely in charge of when he can take some time off. With that said, I’ll do my best to take at least 3 more weeks off this year, and if there will be more holidays, so be it 🙂

Now, Let’s Talk About Traffic!

Pageviews: 135,301 (down 19% from last month)

Sessions: 100,300

Users: 89,933

Email Subscribers: 2236 (+218, thanks to ConvertKit!)

I knew that my traffic was going to tank in January, because December was such a good month for traffic, but in reality, I wasn’t hit too hard: just 20%. Furthermore, my Mediavine earnings weren’t completely terrible either. In January,

I earned $1,661.81 from Mediavine, which is a LOT higher than the $442.62 that I made from Mediavine in January 2019. There’s a few reasons for this, but increased traffic isn’t the only one.

I also optimized the settings in my Mediavine panel, and increased the amount of ads shown to my readers. If you’re looking to bump up your ad earnings quickly, this is a surefire way to do it, no matter what ads platform your are using.

If you are wondering where I drive most of my traffic, it’s from Pinterest. There’s two resources that I recommend for getting pro at Pinterest: the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course by Create and Go and my own ebook, Explosive Traffic With Tribes.

What I’m Focusing On In February

Launching Products And Services

I know that I included this in my last month’s income report, but I’m doing it again. This is my main focus for Q1. Like I mentioned above, I’m launching an ebook about my Amazon Affiliates strategy, and although the book is finished, I still want to re-write a couple of things and include more content.

There are also a few other projects that I’m focusing on and want to bring to life, such as my blogging planner/binder.

How I Made $8,376.11 Blogging This Month: December Income Report

How I Made $8,376.11 Blogging This Month: December Income Report

Welcome to another income report! This month, I’m once again a bit blown away by the results from this blog – I made $8,376.11, which is slightly MORE than what my monthly income goal for the year was. I’ve been saying this over and over again, but one of my biggest goals in blogging is to make six figures, or $8,333 / month consistently.

Well, in December I hit the first milestone – I’ve now had my first $8,333+ / month! I honestly can’t believe that I was able to break this goal already in 2019. Of course I wanted to make it happen, but at the same time it was one of those “I think it would be possible, but it’s probably not going to happen” kind of things. I wasn’t 100% sure that I could do it – after all, I’ve never made this much money in my life before.

I don’t know if it was luck, hard work or something to do with what they preach in The Secret , but hey – here we are. It worked!

Even though I was somehow able to hit my income goal, I feel quite rejuvenated after Christmas and all the holiday madness. I went on unofficial holiday on the 19th of December and came back on the 1st of January, and during those 2 weeks I did pretty much nothing except chill, watch Harry Potter, reply to a couple of emails and use the sauna lots (my parents have one in their flat, like most Finnish and Estonians do!). Very relaxing indeed.

But now, let’s get back to the part that you’re here for: my income report.

What Worked In December

Display Advertising

Display advertising was my highest source of income for the second month in a row. In December, RPMs are the highest they’ll be for the entire year, which means that you’ll earn a lot more from the same traffic as you would on other months. On top of that, I was also able to increase my pageviews to 167,000 – a 35% increase from November, which bumped up my advertising income even more.

Taking Advantage Of Pinterest Trends & Creating Lots Of Content

Ever since Q4 began, I’ve been taking advantage of seasonal Pinterest trends to increase my pageviews and ad revenue. Seasonal content includes holidays and events like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day and more. During the lead up to December, pretty much all of my content was Christmas & New Year’s related. And there was tons of it – I published a new blog post every other day. (I even went as far as creating content in advance for Easter, because I knew my January would be pretty busy and I wouldn’t have enough time!)

If you are lacking in Pinterest traffic, I strongly recommend trying out this strategy too. I publish new blog posts about Pinterest trends every month on my blog and to my email list, so make sure that you’re subscribed to my e-mail newsletter to be notified about a new Pinterest trends post when it goes up.

What Didn’t Work In December

Issues With Divi/Hosting

I talked about these issues in last month’s income report and honestly there’s nothing new to report. I’m going to be changing my hosting in January to see if it will fix the issues that I’m experiencing.

My Dropshipping Store / Having Too Many Blogs

For a few months now, I’ve been trying out dropshipping. If you’re not familiar with dropshipping, it’s a business model where you source out cool products from Ali Express and sell them on your site for a profit. I was able to make between $50-$200 from my store every month, but in the end I decided it wasn’t worth it for me and I closed down the website.

The reason for this was that it was too much work for what it was. I would get dozens of emails from customers asking about the location of their parcel and at the end of the day, I just felt like I was fulfilling the functions of a customer service assistant. My two other blogs (Chic Pursuit and Millenial Money Talk) are much less work and ultimately very passive.

In the end, I thought it would be a better idea to just get rid of the project and focus my full energy on this blog. So far, it’s paid off! I’m still glad that I tried dropshipping, because it’s something that I’ve been wanting to try for a couple of years now.

Now, Let’s Talk About Traffic!

Pageviews: 167,234 (up 35% from last month!)

Sessions: 127,619

Users: 115,168

Email Subscribers: 2018 (+381, thanks to ConvertKit!)

Wowza! I knew December traffic was going to be big, but I didn’t expect it to be this high. I had set my sights at getting 150k pageviews in December, and I’m happy to say that I completely smashed the goal. The majority of new traffic that came in December was completely seasonal and related to Christmas and New Year’s Eve – I made about 20 Christmas and New Years posts, and some of them picked up quite a lot of traffic. Like you can see from the graph, my traffic declined sharply exactly after Christmas.

Ever since Q4 began, I’ve been taking advantage of seasonal Pinterest trends to increase my pageviews and ad revenue. This is a strategy that I can strongly recommend following. I publish a new post about Pinterest trends every month, so make sure that you’re subscribed to my e-mail newsletter to be notified about a new Pinterest trends post when it goes up.

There’s two resources additional resources that I recommend for getting pro at Pinterest: the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course by Create and Go and my own ebook, Explosive Traffic With Tribes. What I’m Focusing On In January

Launching Products And Services

My main goal for January is to launch a couple of products and services that I’ve left aside for a few months. The products are ready and even have customer reviews, but I just need to create sales pages for them and come up with a marketing plan. As of now, I have 2 products that are ready to launch: a planner (in 3 different colors) and an ebook.

I have also been asked about blog coaching and Pinterest coaching, and I will be setting up those as soon as possible. Essentially all I need to do is to create a sales page and come up with pricing (and ask for reviews from previous customers).

I also want to create a new Pinterest course with videos, which is something that I’ll start planning when all of the other work is finished.

Continuing To Take Advantage Of Pinterest Trends – (I.e. Publishing New Blog Posts As Often As Possible)

Continuing writing about 20 blog posts per month honestly wasn’t part of my original plan for January, but so far Pinterest trends have worked so well for me that it would be a shame to not continue publishing as many blog posts as possible. The ad revenue for January obviously isn’t as great as it was for December, but it hasn’t dropped too drastically.

I should still be able to make around $1,200 from ad revenue in January with my current traffic, which is motivating enough for me to try to work as hard as I can on new blog posts. Oh, and it also helps that I did most of the writing back in December before going on holiday, so I have about 30 blog post drafts sitting in my dashboard that are almost ready to be published.

What I’m not doing in January – Youtube

I had big plans to start creating more Youtube content in January, however looking at my schedule and workload I honestly can’t see how it would be possible. So, this will have to wait until I’ve finished the bigger tasks in my to-do list.

That’s all from me this month! As we are in the “new year, new me” time of year and everyone is setting resolutions, I wanted to give myself a new blog goal after hitting my previous income goal this month. My blog goal for 2020 is to hit $112,000 in revenue for my blogs, and my personal goal is to become a better friend, spend more time with friends and actively search out new friendships. I feel like I’ve been very focused on work in 2019 which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I definitely want to establish a routine where I stop working around 5-6 pm and see friends after that time.

The income goal of $112,000 is kind of an arbitrary number, but if I fall a little bit short of the goal, hopefully I’ll still be able to hit six figures 🙂

I would love to know your blog goals and personal goals for 2020 as well. If you’ve made any goals that you don’t mind sharing, please let me know then in the comments below!

How I Made $7,015.77 This Month: November Income Report

Hey there blogger friend! It’s time for another income report and whoah, I was completely blown away by how much I made last month when I was adding up the figures. The total came to $7,015.77 which honestly shocked me!

Of course, it’s not all profit, and it’s still shy of my goal of $8,333/month, but I was pretty stoked when I realised I hit another income milestone so soon after hitting my first $5k month!

If you’re on my email list, I’ve told you before that November and December are typically the months when bloggers earn the most, and it seems like I’m no exception! I’ll tell you all about what worked for me in November and what I’m planning to do in December in detail, but first, let’s jump into the numbers!

What Worked In November

Display Advertising

If you’ve been reading my income reports for a while, you’ll know that usually Amazon Affiliates are my highest earning income source. However, this month they’re not only not the highest earner for me, they’re actually only the third highest earner!

This isn’t due to me making less money with them compared to what I usually earn, but more because I managed to increase my earnings with two other programs that I’m part of: Mediavine and Bluehost.

Mediavine is the display ad network that I’m using and that I recommend to all bloggers, and if you take a look at my screenshot from their portal (it’s the first screenshot given in this post), you’ll be able to see that I’ve steadily increased my earnings from $965 in September to $1,229 in October, to now $2,232 in November.

I’ve managed to increase my earnings due to two things. First and foremost, I published 20 blog posts in November alone, which is a lot more than what I usually do! I was able to drive 10,000 more pageviews to my blog when compared to October, and 25,000+ more pageviews compared to September. I’m expecting this trend to continue in December!

Secondly, I also increased the frequency of my ads. Instead of placing a limit of ads that are displayed on my articles, there are now as many ads as Mediavine deems “optimal”. Doing this, combined with the already high RPMs that we’re seeing in Q4 allowed me to monetize my traffic much more effectively than before!

Promoting Bluehost

My earnings from Bluehost were exceptionally high this month because they were running a month long promotion for their affiliates, where they paid much higher commissions than usual. Of course I wanted to take full advantage of it!

I got the idea of promoting Bluehost from the Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing course, and so far it has worked out well for me. If you haven’t take the course already, I really recommend it!

Black Friday

Of course I can’t talk about November without mentioning Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

I didn’t calculate exactly how much I earned during the Cyber weekend, but I would estimate it to be somewhere around $500 – however, Cyber Monday was in December, so in November the amount would probably be around $250. I also managed to snag some great blogging deals during the sales, which was awesome!

I firmly believe that the amount that bloggers make during special occasions like Black Friday is directly tied to the size of their email list. I’m pretty new when it comes to e-mail marketing, and my list is currently just under 2,000. However, it’s amazing to see that it’s possible to earn a few hundred dollars just from sending emails every month even with a small list like mine!

Email marketing is definitely something that I’m planning to get better at, and growing it is going to be one of my top priorities in January. (If you’re wondering what I use/recommend, it’s ConvertKit!)

What Didn’t Work In November

Issues With Divi/Hosting

I think it’s safe to say that I’ve overgrown my hosting limits, which I’m guessing is the reason why I’m experiencing so many issues with the Divi theme at the moment. At least I sincerely hope it’s an issue with hosting, otherwise I have no idea what could be causing it.

Essentially what has happened with my website is that for some reason, the Divi builder isn’t working for me, unless I use a plugin called Healthcheck and access my dashboard in Troubleshooting mode. If I don’t do this, I’m literally unable to publish new blog posts or do any changes on my website. Also, my website is running probably 3x slower than regular and I’m having trouble with e-mail signups.

It’s annoying and I’m well aware of the issue, but at the same time, I don’t want to try fixing anything at the moment and jeopardizing the Q4 profits (especially from ad income). I already tried changing my host back in October because of the problems, but that brought with it it’s own issues. For example, my Mediavine revenue dropped by about 20%.

That’s why I’m leaving the issue un-fixed until January, when the juicy Q4 revenue is inevitably gone anyway. So, if you are seeing any glitches with my website or if it’s super slow, I do apologise, but…… we’ll both have to deal with it for now. Sorry!

Now, Let’s Talk About Traffic!

Pageviews: 123,579

Sessions: 93,069

Users: 84,005

Email Subscribers: 1637 (+168, thanks to ConvertKit!)

Like I mentioned, I’ve been on a mission to increase my pageviews during Q4 and it’s been working pretty well! In November I published 20 blog posts, in October around 10, and in December I’ll be publishing at least 17. I’ve been on a mission to take advantage of the holiday season revenue as much as I can, and it seems to be working!

Most of my traffic comes from Pinterest, and if you’re looking to boost your own blog traffic, I recommend focusing on Pinterest first instead of Google.

There’s two resources that I recommend for getting pro at Pinterest: the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course by Create and Go and my own ebook, Explosive Traffic With Tribes. If you’re looking for a free course that covers all the basics, sign up to my Free Explosive Traffic With Pinterest eCourse below!

What I’m Focusing On In December

Much like November, my main focus in December is going to be getting as many pageviews as possible. I’ve already written 17 posts for December and made all the Pinterest pins associated with those posts.

It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it! The posts that I’m making are seasonal in nature, so I’ll be able to use the same posts and pins next year when Christmas rolls around again. It’s the same way with passive income in any niche – there’s a lot of hard work in the beginning, but it gets a lot easier with time.

I’ve also somehow managed to get myself into a complete “blogger mode” – I’ve been researching and writing up blog posts for January,  February and even March!  I plan to get a few months ahead with blog posts now in December when I still have the drive.

In January, I’m going to be focusing more on course creation, YouTube videos and potentially just chilling under the Bali palm trees. I want to get as much done now as possible, so that I can focus on the other stuff when it’s time for that!

That’s all from me this month – I’m wishing you lots of success in this busy Q4! Let me know what you’re biggest goal for this month is in the comments!

How I Made $5,823.23 Blogging Last Month – My Biggest Month Yet!

How I Made $5,823.23 Blogging Last Month – My Biggest Month Yet!

Hey there, fellow blogger! It’s time for another income report and I’m SO excited to be sharing this with you! The last month was an awesome month for me, and I made more money than I’ve ever made!  Like you can see from the title, my grand total came to almost $6k, which is just insane!

Just a week before the end of October I was calculating my monthly income and it was just shy of $5k, and I remember being so excited about potentially breaking that elusive number. And then, during the last week, somehow I made some extra sales and got offered a sponsorship, which took me to almost $6k this month.

I can’t tell you how excited I was during that last week of October! And I still am – I have high hopes for November and December to continue on the same trajectory. I’ll tell you what I did in October and what I plan to do in November and December in just a bit, but first, let’s dive into the numbers!

October Traffic

Pageviews: 111,935

Sessions: 83,561

Users: 75,172

Email Subscribers: 1637 (+233, thanks to ConvertKit!)

I finally hit 100,000k pageviews!!! This has been one of my longest blogging goals!

Most of my traffic comes from Pinterest, and if you’re looking to boost your own blog traffic, I recommend focusing on Pinterest first instead of Google.

If you are wondering where I drive most of my traffic, it’s from Pinterest. There’s two resources that I recommend for getting pro at Pinterest: the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course by Create and Go and my own ebook, Explosive Traffic With Tribes.

What’s Up In October

Like you can see from my numbers, my traffic was up by a lot this month (about 15%), and my income followed suite. A lot of my income came from affiliate marketing this month thanks to 1) increased traffic 2) The Genius Blogger’s Toolkit sales 3) Youtube advertising.

I used Youtube ads to promote an affiliate product that has a very high commission, and so far for every dollar that I’ve put in, I’ve gained two in pure profit. It seems to be working really well! If you haven’t used Google Ads before, you can also claim a free £120 / $120 credit for your ads if you’re using one of their services like GSuite, so I definitely recommend at least trying them out!

In October, I also made more money than usual from my display advertising. If you’re part of my e-mail newsletter, you would’ve already heard about this, but I managed to bump up my RPM to $16 in October, and as I’m writing this, my RPM has already gone beyond $20. Super exciting stuff! In my case, this meant an extra +$250 compared to September, and in November, I should be making about $1,500 just from ads, if not more. Exciting!

October was a month of many milestones for The Chic Pursuit: I finally broke 100k pageviews per month on the blog, and I made the most I’ve ever made. But that’s not all! Things were looking well in my personal life too, Ian and I celebrated 2 years of being together, and both of our birthdays. Well, mine was on the 2nd of November, but it’s very close!

We went to to an amazing spa resort here in the UK and had a very blissful stay. So nice! 🙂

What I’m Focusing On In November

Okay, so I’m going to have to completely eat my own words here, because last month I wrote that I would NOT be focusing on traffic, and would instead be focusing on adding more products to my shop.

WELL, I’ve decided to go the complete opposite way. I’m going to be focusing heavily on traffic and ad income until the end on 2019, and publish a new blog post 3 times a week to drive traffic.

The ad income during this period is just too good, and I don’t want to miss out. In January, I’ll focus back on product creation and marketing.

I’ve created a lot of posts for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I’m planning to do about 8 more. This means that there will be about 32 blog posts in total before the year ends. Yep, I’ve been pretty busy in the past few weeks!

Another thing that I’m prepping myself for is Black Friday. Ever since Black Friday last year, I’ve been thinking about Black Friday 2019 and how I could run promotions better.

Last year, I didn’t really do anything special, but this time around I’m planning to run some Facebook ads and potentially Pinterest and Google ads too.

I’ve never ran Facebook ads before, so I don’t even know how it’s going to go. Hopefully it all goes well!

I’m currently listening to the Brilliant Business Moms podcast by Beth Anne Schwamberger and I’m also going to finish her Facebook course before launching any ads – these were a part of Genius Blogger’s Toolkit and I’ve LOVED her stuff before, so I’m sure the FB ads course is going to be good too.

That’s all from me this month – I’m wishing you lots of success in this busy Q4! Let me know what you’re biggest goal for this month is in the comments!

How I Made $4,222.93 Blogging In September | Blog Income Report

How I Made $4,222.93 Blogging In September | Blog Income Report

How I Made $4,222.93 Blogging In September | Blog Income Report

Hello hello, fellow bloggers and welcome to another income report here on the Chic Pursuit! This month’s income report is coming a bit late, as the last few week’s have been crazy busy for me.

I was promoting an affiliate launch, got a few last minute sponsorship opportunities and worked on a few products that I’m launching in the next few months. Exciting stuff!

I’ve been REALLY looking forward to the end of 2019 pretty much since Q4 last year, because during that time, I wasn’t aware how much more you were able to make as a blogger during the last few month’s of the year.

In case you didn’t know, Q4 is the best time for traffic, revenue from display ads as well as scoring sponsorship opportunities. Everyone seems to be throwing money into advertising during the lead up to Christmas, and I’m here for it!

While I’ve already published a few Christmas gift guides, I haven’t done much for Thanksgiving.

Last year, my blog post on Thanksgiving recipes went semi-viral, and it was the most popular post that I had that month. If you haven’t already started preparing seasonal content, I highly recommend that you get started with it!

But now, without further ado, let’s get into the numbers!

What’s Up In September?

September was my second consecutive month of earning more than $4,000 a month. I’m expecting this trend to continue until the end of the year, and hopefully even hit $5k in revenue /month before Christmas.

I was also really surprised to see that my investment blog is starting to take off. So far, there hasn’t been that much traffic on the blog (around 1k visitors and 2k pageviews / month), but the revenue per thousand visitors is much greater than here on the Chic Pursuit! This month alone, the blog generated $165, which is really cool, considering I do zero marketing for it and publish blog posts just once a month.

Personally, I enjoy talking about money as much as I enjoy talking about fashion (maybe even a little bit more!), so I’m excited to see where this little project takes me.

What I’m Focusing On Right Now

Even though I talk a lot about traffic and revenue from display ads on this income report, my main focus for Q4 is actually creating more products & learning paid ads. And of course, I’m always looking to increase my email subscribers!

In September, I started running YouTube ads and so far, I’ve had great success with them. So far for every dollar that I’ve spend, I’ve received about $4 in profit. That’s insane!

I intend to keep running YT ads for at least 30 days before evaluating how well exactly they’re working. So far, it’s been less than that, so I can’t say for sure if they’re as effective as I think. Currently, my daily spend is £5 ($6).

I also want to start learning and implementing Facebook ads. Personally, I am not a fan of Facebook or its practices, but there are so many online entrepreneurs who swear by Facebook ads that there must be something to them.

Actually, I tried setting up an ad already in September, but SOMEHOW I managed to kick my self out of my own page and I’m no longer an admin nor do I have access to my own page. What??

This is really bizarre and it doesn’t help that Facebook seems to have zero employees doing customer support. So, I’m probably never getting that page back. Luckily, my page only had 500 likes, but imagine if this happened to someone with 100k+ likes. So unprofessional on their part.

Anyhow, with that little rant aside, one of the reasons why I want to learn paid ads NOW is because Black Friday is pretty much around the corner. Sometimes, there are some amazing deals with lucrative affiliate commissions, so for the past year or so, I’ve been waiting to try paid advertising to promote these affiliate offers once they launch.

Maybe this is something that you want to give a go too?

September Pageviews

Pageviews: 96,449

Sessions: 69,493

Users: 61,910

I know that pageviews are NOT the determining factor in blogging success, but I can’t help but get excited when I see my pageviews going up. In September, I had 96,449 pageviews, which is SO close to 100,000 per month!

Back in the day when I decided that I’d get serious about blogging, getting 100,000 pageviews a month seemed like a good, round goal to set for myself, so I’m happy that I’m finally *almost* reaching that milestone. In October, I’m pretty sure I’ll hit that goal.

The Pinterest Traffic Avalanche is fantastic for bloggers who are clueless when it comes to Pinterest – if you have used Pinterest but had no success for it, this course is great for covering all the basics.

However, if you think you know all the basics about Pinterest and still aren’t seeing results, I recommend my own book, Explosive Traffic With Tribes. This book picks off where Pinterest Traffic Avalanche leaves off. It focuses almost entirely on using Tailwind Tribes to get a huge boost in traffic from Pinterest.  Pinterest Traffic Avalanche does NOT cover Tailwind Tribes at all.

The reason why I wrote this book is because I had tried EVERYTHING on Pinterest without getting any significant results, and it wasn’t until I discovered Tailwind Tribes that my views started skyrocketing. In 3 months, I went from getting 50,000 monthly pageviews to 90,000, and my income saw a similar boost.

I highly recommend Explosive Traffic With Tribes if 1) You’re looking to increase your traffic 2) You’ve tried everything with Pinterest and nothing’s worked.

How I Made $4,811 Blogging In August | Blog Income Report

Welcome to another income report on the blog! This month has been crazy good on The Chic Pursuit and I’m super excited for Q4 to roll around.

I haven’t posted many income reports in the last few month because even though I’ve earned a decent amount ($3,100 on average), I haven’t felt motivated to share those numbers with you because they’re nothing out of the ordinary.

However, in August I ALMOST hit $5k in income from my blog, which is really exciting! It’s the most amount in a month that I’ve made from my blog yet.

With Thanksgiving, Halloween, Black Friday and Christmas just around the corner, I’m really aiming for my income to go above $6k during one of these months. We’ll see if I can make that happen!

What’s Up In August?

For the last few months, I’ve been suffering a little from shiny object syndrome. I’ve started a couple more projects, such as my investment blog and a Shopify Dropshipping store.

The Chic Pursuit is still my favorite child, so I’m not putting that much effort into the other projects and it probably shows. Every entrepreneur who I follow says that you should only ever have one business at a time and be laser focused on what you do. Well, oops!

The investment blog doesn’t require that much time, so that’s not a problem. However, if I want to scale the Shopify store, that will take lots of time and effort. So, I’m not sure if I should keep it or sell it. We shall see.

But now, let’s get into the money!

Most bloggers who I follow always say that the summer time is particularly quiet and that everyone is outside enjoying the hot weather. Well, apparently my audience doesn’t like hot weather, because my traffic was better than ever!

Even though I’ve hovered around 80-90k pageviews for almost a year now, I haven’t yet broken the 100k pageview mark. I was SO close in August, yet so far. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the next few months!

Want To Boost Your Own Traffic?

If you’re looking to start boosting your own traffic and earning more money, there’s two realistic options for you: go for either Google traffic (slow) or Pinterest traffic (fast).

I’ve recently started implementing an aggressive Pinterest and Tailwind Tribes strategy on my blog, and I quickly went from getting 50,000 monthly pageviews to 90,000 in the span of 3 months by using two awesome sources: the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course and my own strategies in Explosive Traffic With Tribes.

With 100 pages of hands-on, no BS strategies that WORK,  Explosive Traffic With Tribes is an awesome step-by-step blueprint for bloggers to reach 90,000 pageviews with just 30 minutes of work per day. I highly recommend Explosive Traffic With Tribes if 1) You’re looking to increase your traffic 2) You’ve tried everything with Pinterest and nothing’s worked.

If you’re looking for a free resource on how to increase your traffic, you can always sign up for my free Pinterest Crash Course below!

What Worked In August: Tailwind SmartLoop

I started using the Tailwind SmartLoop in August and so far, I’ve been SUPER happy with it. For those who don’t know, Tailwind SmartLoop is an automated Pinterest scheduler. You can create different loops for your pins, assign them to Pinterest boards and Tailwind will take care of the rest.

It’s a game changer!

Prior to trying it out, I really didn’t understand what the big deal about it was (and I didn’t want to pay another $10 per month for a blogging service!), but after trying out their free version, I saw the value in it.

Above all, the SmartLoop feature will save you SO MUCH time and that’s invaluable for me. You can loop ALL of your blog posts on Tailwind SmartLoop, so that you’ll never forget to pin season content, your best performing blog posts or your old content.

I’m pretty confident that Tailwind SmartLoop added a few thousand pageviews to my blog this month too!

What’s Next?

Like I mentioned, I’m super excited for Q4 to roll around and I’ve already started preparing gift guides for different audiences. I’ve never actually published gift guides on my blog before, so I’m excited to see what kind of an impact they’ll have on my earnings!

Also, I’ve been thinking about turning my Youtube from a fashion channel to a blogging tips channel! The next few months will be particularly busy for me, so I’ve been thinking about doing it either in January, or just November onwards. This way, I could provide the same information that I write on my blog weekly in a video format for those of you who prefer to watch videos instead of reading blog posts (I know I’m guilty of that!)
