Five Time Saving Hacks ALL Women Should Use (With Gett & Collect+)

Today I wanted to share with you five of my recent favourite time saving hacks that I think all women should know and use. Most of us would agree that having a busy life is great, but being too busy and not accomplishing enough is never fun. I hope you find some new hacks to add into your daily life from this post!

USE THE GETT & COLLECT+ APP

I’ve recently come across a new service offered by Gett taxi and Collect+. This service is one of the most convenient innovations of this year for anyone who shops online as much as I do. Essentially what they offer is a parcel pickup service in central London (zones 1-3). In less than 10 minutes and £1.95 you can get your unwanted parcels returned at the click of a button – how easy is that! I’m someone who hates managing any kind of parcel shenanigans as returns & deliveries always tend to take so much time, but this service is a life saviour. They even operate from 9 am to 11 pm so not making it to the post office will never be an excuse again. You can also order the service to your office, home – anywhere! They currently cover over 330 brands ranging from the likes of ASOS, John Lewis and New Look.

The service works like a normal Gett taxi service would – once you open the Gett app, go to the right hand-side corner and tap on Collect+. You can then enter your address details and order a delivery man to your desired location. They will be there in a heartbeat and drop off your parcel to the retailer or a nearby Collect+ store. THE TWO MINUTE RULE

One of the best tips I read about time management is the two minute rule. If you find yourself constantly procrastinating on menial daily errands, this ones for you. If it takes two minutes, just do it. Do you book a dentist’s appointment? Just do it. Do you need to clean your room? Do it. You’ll soon see how many things you can get done in a day if you just do things that don’t actually take that long to finish.

DELEGATE

I’m someone who used to say YES to absolutely everything – every work opportunity, every adventure and every guy that asked for my number. As fun as it can be, it’s also a surefire way to get burned out and end up as a human doormat. Over the years I’ve learned the importance of valuing your time and saying no to things that don’t serve you optimally. With that being said, sometimes there are things that you wished you had the time for, but time is just not there. This is where the importance of delegation comes in. You need to be able to pinpoint what it is that you do best, and what are the things that can be outsourced – once you do, you’ll find that you actually have heaps more time to focus on things that you enjoy and are good at. When it comes to blogging, one of those things has been working with photographers and having other people take my photos – there used to be a time when I did it all by myself with a tripod… I’ve always been a bit against spending any money on things that I “don’t need” if I can get to the end result without any help, but money accelerates things so much. Pinpoint what you do best and delegate the rest. 

DECLUTTER & ORGANISE

This is one of the things on my list that everyone is probably familiar with – yes, yes, decluttering helps clear the house and the mind. It’s also a massive time saver as you will have less things to go through. It is wise to declutter different areas of your house while your at it – clean out the bathroom, your closet, kitchenware, etc. Throw out everything that you haven’t used in the past year. If you want to be more extreme, you can even draw the line at 6 months and store items that aren’t in season at the moment.

GET A STEAMER

I recently stayed over at a friend’s place who works in the City and naturally wears many shirts and dresses to work. She never irons, but instead she always uses a steamer to banish wrinkles from her clothes – genius!  Steamers work so much better and quicker than an iron and are quite relaxing to use! They are a little bit pricier than traditional irons, but they are well worth it and very easy to use. Steamers come in both ‘travel’ sized (here) as well as sturdy steamer which you can hang shirts on while you steam them (here). I am personally planning to get the ‘sturdy’ steamer as it looks more convenient.

    Some of these advices are quite good! But as with almost everything in life, it is easier to say than to actually do them.. But let’s be optimistic ! I’m definitely going to try some of them 🙂
