Hi guys! I’m excited to do my very first BEAUTY review on the blog today. I’m reviewing the Bourjois Rouge Laque Liquid Lipstick, which promises 16 hours of intense colour while maintaining an air light feeling on the lips – sounds like a treat! The reason why I’m reviewing this product because I am addicted another lip creation from Bourjois – the Rouge Edition Velvet and I wanted to see how they compare. I’ve been using the colours Don’t Pink of It, Nude-ist, Peach Club and Ravie en Rose from the Rouge Edition Velvet as my daily lip products possibly for two years now, along with the L’Oreal Lip Liner Couture (630 Beige a Nu – my holy grail product!). The Bourjois Rouge Laque Liquid Lipstick is available in Boots and Superdrug and retails for £8.99, BUT it’s on offer for £6.99 in Boots at the moment (where buy 3 pay for 2 also applies – you’re welcome!).

Bourjois Rouge Laque Liquid Lipstick Swatches
The shades of these lipsticks are very intense. The images don’t really bring across just how intense they are, but trust me, they are bold! My skin is quite pale, which really brings more contrast to the colours. My every day shade is 02 Toute Nude, which I’ve worn to the office quite a few times now. However, my favourite shade out of these is 08 Bloody Berry, which is great for events and occasions when you need to dress up. Shades 04 Selfpeach, 05 Red To Toe and 06 Framboiselle are quite similar, but each of them has different undertones – 04 is more orange, 05 is a true red, and 06 has a hue of pink. I’m also a fan of the shade 07 Purpledélique – plum is something I’ve never tried before and it’s so fun!
Bourjois Rouge Laque Liquid Lipstick Wear
Bourjois promises 16 hours of colour wear, which is quite a bold promise. Personally, I like to re-apply my lipstick every 2-3 hours no matter the formulation, as I tend to chew away my lip products. My lips are also very dehydrated, so re-applying product keeps them nice and moist. When I was testing these shades I noticed that they stained my lips instantly – when you apply the product and wipe it off after a while, quite a bold shade still remains on your lips, and this actually does not come off! I was pleasantly surprised by this, as it can save you quite a lot of product. The swatches remained on my hand until the next day too, which wasn’t so great though, haha. I would still re-apply this product after you eat because you loose that shiny satin finish, but if you’re after a lip stain, one application throughout the day will work too.
The application was the only downside of this product in my opinion – one swipe didn’t give me enough product to cover my entire lips. The price point of the product is so afforable though, which is why I really don’t mind having to go in a few times. Once you do get all of the prodct on your lips, it’s all good! The formula isn’t drying and the lipstick leaves a shiny finish, which is something that I haven’t seen with liquid lipsticks in a long time. As I said before, these lipsticks are something that I would wear for a date or an event as the colors are so bold. I also prefer a more “buttery” finish for an everyday look, which is why I will continue using my Rouge Edition Velvets on a daily basis. If you would like to see me review my favourite shades from that collection, let me know! I hope you liked this beauty review as much as I enjoyed making it! xx
